The Norwegian Steam-project has done research on the subject for the last ten years. Parts of this has been published in an exhibition, numerous articles and presentations.
Now TNS-project plan to produce a film and a book that we hope can find a wider audience:
50 minutes TV-documentary
* Norwegian edition
* International edition
The film will contain interviews with men that manned the J-boats in the 1930's along with old and new archive footage such as film, sound recordings, photos and reconstructed scenes.
250 pages journalistic/academic book
* Norwegian edition
* International edition
The book will contain further documentation about the sailors and will also focus on the historic conditions that led the Norwegians into American yachting.
